1. In some places weapons are worshiped on this day. Since on this day goddess finished the demon and so people prepare themselves to dominate the enemies by worshiping weapons.
2. Devotees worship their Kul-Devi on Ashtmi.
3. It is believed that on this day Maa Kaali emerged from the durgaji and so special poojan is done on this day to celebrate the birthday of Maa Kalka.
4. Worshiping female child below 9 years is also very popular on maha-ashtmi.. 
5. Some people worship the 8 incarnation of durgaji on this day

The Muhurat of 10th is as follows:

Laabh Chaughadiya will be from 12:33 PM to 1:30 PM.

Amrit Chaughadiya will be from 1:30 PM to 3 PM.

Shubh Chaughadiya will be from 4:30 PM to 6 PM.

Amrit Chaughadiya will be from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

The Muhurat of 11th is as follows:

Laabh Chaughadiya will be from 7:30 AM to 9 AM.

Amrit Chaughadiya will be from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM.

Shubh Chaughadiya will be from 12 PM to 12:07 PM.
