Let's know the story of kamika ekadashi:
There lived a brave Kshatriya in a village. One day due to some reason he got into a scuffle with the Brahmin and the Brahmin died. That Kshatriya wanted to do the action of a Brahmin who died by his own hands. But the pundits forbade him to participate in the action. The Brahmins told that you are guilty of killing Brahma. First get rid of this sin by atonement, then we will have food at your house.
On this the Kshatriya asked what is the way to get rid of this sin. Then the Brahmins told that by fasting and worshiping Lord vishnu on the Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Shravan with devotion and satisfying Brahmins with cloths, dakshina and feeding, you will getrid of sin.
Khstriya did the fast as per instructions given by Brahmins and Lord vishnu appeared to the Kshatriya on the night of fasting and said that you have got freedom from the sin of killing Brahmin.
By observing this fast, all the sins get destroyed and person is able to enjoy in this world happily.
Worshiper is able to get place in vishnulok by doing this fast. By hearing and reciting the greatness of this Kamika Ekadashi story, humans reach heaven.

How to do Kamika Ekadashi fast and worship:
- Get up early in the morning and get rid of daily activities.
- Go to your place of worship and take a pledge to fast and worship Kamika Ekadashi in front of Lord Vishnu.
- Worship Lord Vishnu, offer incense, lamp, Navaidya, also worship with Tulsi Dal and also do Abhishek with Panchamrit.
- Pray to God to destroy all your sins and grant you grace.
- Keep fast for the whole day and night. Those who cannot keep fast for the whole day and night, they can eat fruits.
- On the next day i.e. on 12th day, one should eat food only after offering food and donation to brahmins as per capacity.
- On this day we can chant Vishnu Sahasranama or we can chant Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya.
- We should also worship Tulsi on Kamika Ekadashi.
