The birthday of lord krishna is celebrated as janmastmi. This is the night when incarnation of lord vishnu took birth to protect the Dharma i.e. the truth in this universe is janmastmi. Janmastmi is celebrated worldwide with great joy. In the midnight of janmastmi statue of baby krishna is worshiped. In temple first abhishek is done with panchamrit, then krishna is decorated with beautiful cloths and jewelry then different types of bhog is offered to krishna on the divine night of janmastmi and with this people chant the mantra of krishna. 

In the night of janmastmi every where the name of lord krishna can be heard easily.

People also celebrate the krishna janmastmi in their home by decorating the home and inviting the family members to enjoy the night with kirtan and chanting.

In the night of Janmastmi, Krishna is worshipped as a 'BALGOPAL' i.e. in the form of baby.

Importance Of Fast On Janmastmi:

Janmastmi is one of the auspicious time in which a person can worship to fulfil any desire as per our holy epics. So on this day people also keep fast and as per the skanda puran fast on janmastmi is helpful to attain salvation i.e. Moksha. The fast also helps to minimize the grah dosha and also helps to full fill the materialistic wishes.

Shree krishna janmastmi night is also known with different names like as Gokulastmi, krishn Astmi, Mohratri, mohanashtmi etc.

  4. To dominate enemies it is good to worship god of snakes with lord Krishna on this night.
  5. This is the night to destroy the evil powers, So to remove the evil eye effect one can perform the holy fire and give aahuti with special things by consulting a good and experienced astrologer.
  6. This night is also very important to perform vashikaran saadhna.
  7. Devotion is the best way to over come from any problems. So on this night worship shree krishna with bhakti and offer whatever you have and pray to make you free from problems and recite the spell of lord krishna with devotion.
